On the evening of May 6, 2021 a fire broke out at Citadel Mews in St. Albert, Alberta. Citadel Mews was a seniors assisted living building with nearly 200 residents. St. Albert Fire Services had responded with 60 of their own firefighters but quickly called on neighboring communities to assist. The Morinville Fire Department, Spuce Grove Fire Department, Strathcona County Fire Department and Edmonton Fire Rescue Services responded.
